This exhibition is about my past, remembered and imagined. It represents a journey for me from place to place, from dreams to reality. Our memories are absolutely subjective and therefore rarely the same as those we shared the events with, especially when those events are way back in the past or part of our childhood.
What I have tried to do, at sixty five, is to remember the feelings of some parts of my life rather than actual happenings. And then to produce work that expresses those feelings. This has not been an easy journey and what you see in this exhibition is only a tiny sample of the possible places my memory has taken me.
I chose spray painting because it has a slightly dreamy quality and because like life, it is almost impossible to control.
